Military & First Responders

Protecting America Together. That is the line on our crews' shirts, and it covers the four groups this page is about — fire, police, EMS and the military.
Some of the people who need a roof the most are the ones who spend their working lives making sure everyone else is alright. We would rather do something concrete about that than say something nice about it.
So there are two standing commitments here. Not a seasonal promotion, not a coupon code that quietly expires — standing policy.
First Responders — $250 off, no paperwork
Police, fire, EMS and paramedics. Active or retired. Show us your department ID and $250 comes off a full roof replacement. You are not filing anything, waiting on a rebate cheque, or proving anything twice.
GAF looks after the troops through their rebate. We wanted the people who turn up to everything else covered too.
Military & Veterans — we match GAF dollar for dollar
GAF runs a rebate program called Roofs for Troops that gives $250 to active military, honorably discharged veterans and military retirees.
As a GAF Master Elite contractor we can put that rebate in front of you — and then we match it with another $250 of our own. That is our way of saying thank you, rather than passing along a manufacturer's discount and calling it generosity.
GAF sets the conditions on their side: a qualifying GAF roofing system, an Enhanced Warranty, one rebate per person and per address, and the warranty registered within 45 days of installation. That last part is our responsibility and we handle it. GAF's terms are GAF's and can change — we will confirm the current rules with you before you commit to anything. Our $250 has no strings on it.
The one restriction, stated plainly
Both discounts apply to full roof replacements only — not repairs or partial work. We would rather you read that here than hear it at the estimate. If you are looking at a repair and you serve or served, call anyway. We will tell you honestly what the job needs.
Beyond the discount
The discounts are the part we can put in writing. The rest is harder to advertise and matters more to us.
We have replaced roofs at no cost for military families in this area facing terminal illness. We do not publicise those families and we are not going to start — they did not ask to become marketing. But it is the reason this page exists, and it is why the discount is standing policy rather than a promotion we run when business is slow.
Know someone who needs a roof?
If there is a service member, veteran or first responder in the Metro East who is in a hard spot and needs a roof, tell us about them. You do not have to be the homeowner to reach out — neighbours, family, department colleagues, anyone.
Call (618) 641-9533 or email kirk@irestorestl.com and tell us the situation. We read every one of these.
How to claim your discount
- Call and mention you are a first responder, veteran or active military.
- We inspect the roof at no charge.
- The discount appears on your written estimate as a line item — not as a vague promise.
- For the GAF military rebate, we prepare the paperwork and register the warranty inside GAF's 45-day window.
Common Questions
- Who qualifies as a first responder?
- Police, fire, EMS and paramedics — active or retired. Show us your department ID and the $250 comes off. There is no rebate to file and nothing to wait for.
- Who qualifies for the military discount?
- GAF’s Roofs for Troops rebate covers active military, honorably discharged veterans and military retirees who are legal residents of the United States. Our matching $250 follows the same eligibility.
- Does the discount apply to roof repairs?
- No. Both discounts apply to full roof replacements only, not repairs or partial work. That is the one restriction and we would rather state it plainly here than surprise anyone at the estimate.
- What does the GAF rebate actually require?
- GAF requires a qualifying GAF roofing system — their shingles plus a set number of GAF accessory products such as ridge cap, attic ventilation, starter strip, roof deck protection and leak barrier — together with an Enhanced Warranty. The warranty has to be registered within 45 days of installation, which is our job, not yours. There is one rebate per person and per address, and GAF takes roughly eight weeks to send the cheque.
- Do I have to chase the paperwork?
- No. We prepare and submit the GAF rebate paperwork and register the warranty inside the 45-day window. Our own $250 needs no paperwork at all — it comes off the estimate.
- Can the two be combined?
- If you served and now work as a first responder, call us and we will talk it through rather than hiding behind fine print.
